07.12.2007 - Tickets For Xmas Gig

Hello there everyone. Is it too early to be saying merry christmas yet? No...MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

If you're wondering where the hell you can get a ticket for what's shaping up to be...the Ruarri Joseph Xmas Party (?) then read on. If you're not then I apologise for wasting this much of your time with useless information. You can stop reading at any time. Go .. if you want to. No-one's forcing you.

There are a limited number of tickets available from any of these shops:

SMILE SURF SHOP, Newquay
PERRAN SURF, Perranporth
BUNTERS BAR, Truro

Or you can get one by phoning 07976 835 386

There will be some tickets on the door also but only as many as capacity allows sadly! This health and safety world is forever spiralling out of control.

They seem to be selling like cakes that have just come out of the oven in a pretty popular bakery so get yourself motivated and join us for the shin dig you'll either forget through intoxication or remember and tell all your friends about.

22.11.2007 - Christmas Party

Hello there, just thought I'd fill you in on what exactly is going on with this xmas lark. Myself and my band, the Hitchcock Rules, Exelby and DJ's The Earls of Suave are putting on a night of merry music at the L2 club in Truro on 13th December. Doors will open around 9:00 and music will start pretty soon after and will go on until the musicians are too knackered to carry on and the DJ's can step up with their pro plus and keep the music going until 2am! Plus there might be (I must emphasise MIGHT) be a special appearance from the one and only Christmas band to end all Christmas bands...Cosmic and The Mistletoes! I say might because they're still rehearsing in Lapland and cosmic's tongue got stuck to his frozen microphone.

All this and at only a cost of 5 ENGLISH POUNDS!! That is amazing! So finish your christmas shopping and then head to L2, put your woolies bags in the cloak room, purchase some egg-nog or hot chocolate if you're driving and have a night worthy of remembering (or not as the case may be)

See you all there!!

16.11.2007 - 3000 People!

So anyway, I was walking down Camden High Street thinking how odd it was that Timmy Mallet's fashion sense had made a very strong comeback when I suddenly got lost in this big round building and walked out onto a stage of some sort in front of about 3,000 people who must've been watching a gig or something. Obviously confused and taken aback I thought I'd better do something about it so picked up a guitar that was on the stage (I later found out it was David Gray's!! And was worth almost exactly 60 times more than mine) and started playing some songs I deemed appropriate. And bless these lovely people, they started cheering and clapping! The expensive guitar then cut out on me a couple of times but these lovely people just became even friendlier. How I wished they were my fans!

It was probably the biggest audience I've played to and thankyou to everyone of them for the response they gave me. I had a great night and David Gray was excellant aswell, and what a genuine fella too. Thanks to those I saw wearing the trusty "I wish I was More Rock n' Roll" t-shirts. You made my evening!

See you all again soon hopefully...

12.11.2007 - The Latest

My humble studio (again I must point out that studio is a very polite term for my cell in the garden) has reached a point where I've used the equipment so much it's starting to falter. My microphone has been humming all day, the cold has rusted the strings on all of my guitars, my ancient drum kit (from the military in the 70's!) is beginning to sound like the cow that put the first skins on drums all those years ago (it's mooing deeply as opposed to sounding like Phil Collins) and my computer (which is bigger than my house) is taking longer and longer to switch on. I think the time has come for me to upgrade a couple of things! Nevertheless writing and recording is my favourite part of being a musician so I haven't grumbled once, I just need to have a tidy and maybe a break from the hole. New songs are coming out though which is good news and I'll see about posting some somewhere at some point.

In other news, I've been very fortunate and landed all three support slots with Mr David Gray at the Roundhouse in Camden next week. Apparently I'm the first person to support him in three years, so that's a bonus! It of course means more sleeping on the floor of my brother's flat and eating breakfast in cafes as his oven looks like it's got a family of something cultivating and I don't want to disturb them!

See you soon.

07.11.2007 - BRRRRRRRRR!

First of all apologies for being vacant for the last couple of weeks. I've been holed up mostly in my studio (well actually it's just a shed in my garden with a computer, a microphone and cracked version of an undisclosed musical software programme) and I must say, it's FREEZING IN THERE! I put a heater in there but can't figure out the timing device. Aside from writing and recording, I've made a video for the song Won't Work which was (as usual) done on a shoestring budget and shot in a day. Great big kudos to Big Balls Films who are the team I work with when it comes to videos (please check them out on their web page).

I'm liking the writing at the moment. Most of the album is made up of songs that are as old as seven years, just coz writing was like a theraputic hobby for me when I was younger to get my head around things, so it's refreshing to approach song writing with a more learned attitude and write about some of the nuts things that have happened to me in the last year or so. I might put some up so keep an eye on the page. Also, I'll be doing a couple of Christmas gigs though the details aren't in place right now so again, just keep an eye on the page.

See you soon....
